    Default Colour of Type

OK, I want my type to be red, I type and it is black, I change it to red, ctrl-clik somewhere else to continue and it goes back to black. I tried to make the box on the bottom left red, go to type and it changes to black again. How can I get the type to remain a different colour?

Sorry for all the questions but I have just found your forum and have had a lot of help so far.

I would recommend that you read the help files in Illustrator as there're many ways to do this and it is one of the first things that you learn. However this is five ways you can change: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-Adobe-...tor-Font-Color

I have no problem changing the colour. I draw maps, so I have to name a bunch of towns or whatever, so I choose red, click on the page and it turns black, I change it to red, type my name, then ctrl-Click to move to the next town, but it is back to black. Surely there must be a way to keep it red until I decide to finish it?

I just found it, you have to change the default in the Paragraph Styles.
