    Default Hatching

I draw a hatch pattern I want and then export it into the Swatch box, but when I fill a large area with it, it shows as tiles, not a complete hatch covering the area. What am I doing wrong?

Did you have a look in your Swatches Library in Paterns --- Basic Graphic Lines or Basic Graphic Texture. The of course it is a Pattern and must be treated as such, but you can of course edit the pattern in the Object menu.

Forgot to say you can also use the Rectangular Grid Tool to do this all that you have to figure is how many lines you want to use in the dialogue box and rotation angle and the use this with your shape on top with both selected, right click and select "Clipping Path". I haven't really studied this tut but it should give you the info to get on with this method: http://www.alauda.ro/2013/01/29/how-...n-illustrator/
