    Default Typing on a path.

I know how to type of a path, but I also want to show the path, as it disappears with the text, I could of course cut and paste but feel there must be an easier way.

Select the path with the white pointer tool. Open the appearance panel and make the stroke non-transparent.

    Take care, Mike

No Mike got it right. I thought maybe it might be the version and tried CS, CS2 and CS5 and all are the same. Did you draw the Path with the Pen Tool, with the path selected press T and then select Type on a Path. Then click anywhere on the path and Type. Most version in the appearance panel show show Opacity, Fill, Stroke and on the top Characters.
    Design is thinking made visual.

Hi Bob...with the white pointer, carefully only click on the curve. The appearance panel should show the line weight and blank fill. Choose a line weight and fill color.
