Compound Path on Text causing duplication of letter centres?

When i compound a text path in illustrator it duplicates the centres of letters like 'o' 'e' 'd' 'p' 'b'

how is this avoided please?/

Never heard of that one ever. Could there be an extra layer with those letters in that layer? I am really struggling to think of anything else. If you do an undo going back to where you converted your text to compound path are the extra letters there or are they only duplicate when you "create outlines". Look in the Layers panel for those extra letters to see when they are created. The only other question I have on this is are you the one that created this file.
