    Default A Montreal Canadien

    Hi Everyone,

I looked through my folders and found this one from sometime before 2010.

This is a jpeg and I cannot find the original Xara parent anymore. The player is a Montreal Canadien but for the life of me I cannot remember his name.

I created him by painstakingly tracing the photograph of him in Xara, using the line tool. Believe me it took absolutely ages and the player may look like a clipped photo but it is full hand trace. The distorted numbers behind the player were created in Excel and then distorted in Xara - they are his actual career stats too. There are effects added from plug-ins, that I don't think I have access to anymore, including the outline of the player and so forth.

It took so long to do that I am somewhat miffed I haven't got the 'parent' for it anymore [I only did it to see if I could produce a similar style of image I saw in Computer Arts of basketball players] .

    Cheers
    David

Hi David, just noticed the 100th anniversary crest of the Canadians on his right arm so the picture is probably for the hockey season 2008-2009 (October 2008 to May 2009)

    Hullo Everyone,

You've all been very kind - and yes Roly that is the exact picture - but you've fallen for the old 'Strovey Logic' which drives my wife mad. By parent I actually made the image I created in Xara it's gone and unless someone has been pilfering my PC it's gone forever.

Did you like the image I created though? It's the only proof

    Cheers
    David

I like the image David. I know your frustration. I've lost a number of Xara files in the past and only have jpegs to show they ever existed. Oh well...

    I like it, David.
I save every work file to CD and backup CD after I finish a project. That way I can always go back and find or change my working files.

Hi David, I like the image with the modified background (real stats) better than the original rink boards. If you ever decide to make more please post on this site.

    Ciao
