Default Navbar not working on new site

Been cruising along enjoying WD 9 Premium (on Windows 7). I gave it another chance after my disastrous experience with it 1 1/2 years ago (?) shortly after it first came out. It's been working wonderfully. But now I'm trying to create a new site for a small food pantry in my neighborhood and cannot get the navbar to work. I started with a template's "Blank page", altered it, named it "index," and went on from there to create duplicates of the "index" page for the other four pages needed, and renamed them appropriately. But now can't get the site to work. Looks nice, just can't navigate. Fortunately, I've just started this one. The .web file is attached if anyone has nothing better to do and could take a look at it. Thank you from a lurker who is grateful for all I learn here!

Hi pamelawy, nice site, instead of looking for the problem I started a new navigation bar from the design gallery. I put in the names you had but I noticed that under the url column in the navigation bar properties link you had page 1 index for each page. I think this is where you have a problem. The url link for the about us page should be page 2 (about us), and on the items line the url should be page 3 (items),and so on for the other lines. Double click on each line and when the web page properties opens up click the link to button and open the small arrow down button and click the proper page (not always index). When I did this and previewed your site the nav bar worked fine. Let us know how you make out.

    Ciao

Thanks so much for responding, Rory! I'd actually tried all your suggestions after posting here last night and nothing worked. I deleted all pages but the index, re-created them as "New Page" ("Duplicate Page" was stupid, I know), dropped in a new navbar from the Design Gallery, did all the linking, etc., but still it didn't work. This morning, I tried again to drop in a new navbar and, somehow miraculously, IT WORKS!! Gremlins in the machine are going to drive me 'round the bend one of these days! Thank you again! I LOVE this forum!!

The Navbar is hidden under a large group for the address.
You need to place it on top of everything on the page.

Click it and then press Ctrl-F.
You'll need to do this on each and every page.

I did notice the nav bar and background rectangle on the last page is a different color.

I tried Acorn's suggestion of bringing the nav bar to the top (on each page) did the trick.
