    Default SVG

With the take off of clean flat designs for websites and the need to keep it simple with icons and the need to keep the speed of websites down as much as you can (yes the file size can be larger then a png at small sizes but at larger sizes it is far better and there is only one server request), and that's not even mentioning the quality issue, as svg is a vector format which keeps it's crisp edges not matter the zoom level or resolution, when will xara allow svg images to be exported to websites, at the moment it is either png or jpg.

Perhaps I am missing something. What is keeping you from exporting SVG and using it in a web site now?

While this example uses bitmap effects (the drop shadows), the rest is vector, the html weighs in at about 68k.

What I'm getting at is the option in the 'image' tab of web properties, there are lots of things I can do in round about ways but it is something which should be an option within xara. How would I go about making sure that a logo is exported as an svg when publishing a website?

Sketch is right, Mike. You can import an SVG image but it is converted to PNG on publish.

Hah...being a coder this doesn't present an issue. Actually, XDP's SVG colde is cleaner than AI's for the most part. However, drop shadows out to be converted to use CSS3's filter property...

Ok. Only thing that works is using a placeholder, as y'all know.

And Xara's placeholders suck in the amount of code one is limited to. So, for instance, in order for the "logo" SVG code to fit, I had to remove the embedded bitmap code for the drop shadows. Why there is a lmit so small is beyond me.

So yep, I guess it's needed...and Xara might as well lift or greatly increase the placeholder code limit.

    Sorry for the band-width...
