photoshop problems

hello i'm a noobie...anyways my glowy effect filter(titled diffuse glow) is not working anymore for some reason one day i wanted to start a new project and tried to use my diffuse glow and instead of the "glowy" effect it did the opposite it turns things black or darker same thing with my eraser insted of erasing it turns things black can anyone help me?

Reverse your Foreground and Background colours d.c.. See if that doesn't help.

I agree. Make sure that you have the right color selected...you might have a dark color selected instead of the normal light yellow default color.
