Default Re: Change Color of a part of the picture. How?

Despite my best, heartless, attempt at encouraging you to redraw so it is vector and can be recolored at will, did any of you notice that Acorn did and provided a vector file?

NO, not with the vector version. It's as easy as picking each shape and recoloring by picking a color in the color line or using the color mixer for your own color variations. In the case of Acorn's sample, you would also need to set the line color to the same color used for the scales/snake shape. But...see the attached...

You could use this technique http://xaraxone.magix.net/PGD9/page%203.htm to mask the area then replace the color.

This is a very powerful tool.

Two steps. Select some of the green color with the Mask Painter Tool. Then Select the background color or colors with the Erase Tool. Press Erase Background.
And it is a great tut when one cannot easily redraw a vector version.

This icon is ripe for redrawing it as a vector. I have no idea why y'all are using the bitmap and jumping through the select/recolor bitmap hoop.

I cleaned up Acorn's great redraw. The snake/scales are a single vector shape now. All you have to do is pick a color for the cross, pick a color for the snake/scales. No bitmap hoop to jump through.
