Default unwanted white square in webpage using wd9pre.

Sorry if I've posted in wrong place. I'm 73.
Using wd9pre, I start with the template web page 960.
All I do is add a short string of test.
I do notice that when I start the whole screen is white with a black outline of 'page area'.

Does it have some foulup with pasteboard in template?
I get the unwanted square in chrome and ie. Or is java messing me up.
    keep your answer simple.

gramps, all I see is a line of text on a white page background on top of a white pasteboard.
There is nothing wrong with anything.

Have a play and drag a colour onto the page to change the background and another onto the pasteboard and then publish that to see what you have created.
