Default 3D attributes not copying & pasting

    Hi there,
    P&LD 9.....
I've read the help files. I give the new object a basic extusion, select the first object, copy extrusion, select new object, paste format attributes - it just changes color to match the original object. The rotation, angle, lighting settings are not copied over.
    Many thanks,
    Mike

Hi, was the new object extruded already when the format attributes was pasted? Because that has to be extruded

Mike, It all works like it supposed to from what I can tell. You do have to extrude the other object, but, from what I noticed you may have to adjust the lights differently to make the 2nd object appear the same as the 1st object. In my experiments the lights did indeed copy over, and all the 3D settings were the same too, after I extruded the 2nd object.

It's like csehz and Larry have said; if you first apply the extrude to the new object, then paste format/attributes, then it will work.

The only way I cannot get it to work (or what you're describing) is if I've not applied the extrude first.

Thanks all - got it to work.
But the angle of the 2 objects isn't the same - I'm extruding 2 separate letters.
When I gave the 2nd object a basic extrusion, I rotated it a bit.
After copying and pasting the first letter's extrusion, the attributes copied over, but not the angle of the letter.
I want then both the same - is there a way to do this?

What does seem to work is to select both objects and apply the extrusion at the same time.
When you picks the angle of one object the second object tracks the changes.

Maybe that could work if the letters are still editable text:
    - extrude the 1st letter in the required angle, that you have
    - clone that object
    - switch off the extrude
    - change the text to the 2nd letter
    - switch on the extrude back, that should keep the original extrude settings
