    Lightbulb Old Typographics [19-20th centuries]

Re-reading a book on typographics recently, I got really interested in old typefaces, dating 19-20th century. So after searching the web I found some scanned books about type specimen and got inspired to remake some of them in vector. So, having spent several hours, I've made the first one It's from the book PALMER & KEY'S NEW SPECIMEN BOOK, 1884. I will add them soon in downloadeable format and free-to-use (maybe someone would like to use them).

You must be one fast artist! I am surprised that no one has already reproduced this font, though. Anyway, I am looking forward to it.

There are really a lot of such fonts in that books (one book is about 500-900 pages), so maybe some of them were re-made - but not sure about that. Also, don't think I will be to make a font from it because I'm not much of a fontmaker, I just like the shapes of that types from that days, they reflect the atmosphere of that time I think I will just post them as .svg or .eps (not yet sure that someone needs that, but I like doing these things haha)

Okay, I see. I can understand that you enjoy bringing old times back to life by recreating these classic typefaces.

Adobe released several old fonts many many years ago including decorative ornaments.

I think at the time they released it as a package of fonts.

Well, never heard about it - aslo, I don't think they may've redrawn the typeface from this specific book (there are quite a lot of them each containing more than 500 types from different companies) Would be really nice to see the link! (I bet they re-created Monotype types!)
