Question Pacific Rim style Menu + scrolling background?

    Greetings!
..I finally got around to watching Pacific Rim and thought it was a good "comic book" style movie.

Looking for some ideas on how to do something like this in XDP9.

I like the hidden menu, instead of a constant navbar, and the scrolling background.

Interestingly, the long scrolling screen is a series of single screen sized photos. And the fact that right clicking did not bring up the usual Flash options, I assume it much have been done with HTML5 and CS3.

Good observation. ...I also thought it was cool to MM scroll the BG.

They also made ample use of jquery and perhaps some other javascript libraries as well. Very well done and a good example of where we are going with web development.

I found it incredible that it took over 10 seconds to load 10 large images at 4MB size on a fast broadband (35Mb/s); there didn't seem to be any preloading.
In Chrome, the wheel scrolling is good but the bottom dashes do not allow repositioning.
I also found that if you select the Menu, you lose the wheel scroll and can only recover it by selecting Menu > Home.

The graphics are impressive but the implementation seems tawdry.

If you want a good site, seek the Holy Grail (Monty Python's that is). The original Spamalot one for theatre bookings was a graphic novel on an interactive page!
