"Sorting Gallery Items" won't complete - crashes program

I was able to open without any problems the 2Nov_update_index.xar file in both DPX9 32-bit, on an XP desktop, and DXP9 64-bit, on a Windows 7 laptop. Before opening the file, I checked the Gallery sort options settings for both setups and they are the same for all galleries:

Where do I find the "Gallery sort options" settings? I've looked and cannot find.

Near the top of every gallery window you will see a button labelled "More...". Click it and a little menu pops up. On most of those menus (but not all) is an item labelled "Sort...". Click that and you get the Sort options dialog for that gallery.

My Gallery Sort settings are all the same as those in Christine's image (that is, for the Designs, Color, Fonts and Fill galleries; the other galleries have no Sort options). See attached summary.
The strange, but encouraging, thing is that when I added the 32-bit version of Xara Designer Pro X9 program to my wife's computer, I was able to open my index.xar file there successfully. Her computer has the same Gallery Sort settings as mine. Would the 32-bit versus 64-bit make a difference here?
