Well that one is 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' [original].

I still haven't had time to even try one but I thought the original one was something like 'Rosemary's Baby' or 'The Wicker Man' - I thought the tailed figure was 'Satan' but then the small figure is pink so maybe I thought a devil and a small child. I'm very confused. The keyhole or chess piece image has served to confuse me further I'm sorry to say.

Me too David, It's a hard one to figure out. At least what I did was recognizable as to the film I attempted to show, right or wrong I don't know. At first I thought the film was "Little Big Man", so this is probably wrong too.

I have another idea as to the film but no idea how to show it. At least not yet.

I definitely got "The Day the Earth stood still". Perhaps I should pretend that's the one.
All is not lost, however, as my original movie is still obtainable, unlike one of it's key elements.
    That was another clue.

    Unobtainium.

    Final clue.

The Post is now open for panning if you didn't get my drawings or other hints.
Do remember, any criticism must come with your Minimalist Poster.

    Have a go.

I hope you can tell what this is. I thought about putting some text on it but decided not to give away the answer if I am correct on this one.

I think this addresses the original movie?

It does and a really good effect. I think a cascade of these floaters would be very powerful but the single one here is spot on.
