Default Xara files can't be indexed. Please can you write an iFilter !

    Dear Xara

There is a huge problem with XARA (.XAR) files - they cant be indexed by any Windows desktop search utilities.
I am told by the folk at X1 Search (which I use and recommend, btw) that this is because you still havent written an iFilter for .XAR files.
    Please can you do so!

Everything Search Engine has no problems with .xars - http://www.voidtools.com/ Wouldn't be without it

I think the OP needs the .xar contents to be searchable.
1.3 Does Everything search file contents?

No, "Everything" does not search file contents, only file and folder names.

I used to rave about it and, to be sure, it's lightning fast. But it doesn't search file contents. And that's a problem for me.

So way back I moved over to Agent Ransack which searches just as fast but does file contents as well and gives you a report for later if you want it, e.g.:
