Thread: Line thickness

    I've found that to best match the line thickness in HTML (border="1") in Xara X. Set the thickness to between .65 and .75 pts
    If you set it to 1pt it just doesn't look clean and sharp.
    Anyone else found this?

    .75pt = 1 pixel
    1.5pt = 2 pixel

    1pt is not a whole pixel so Xara has to anti-alias the line and it does not look as shart.

    You can also specify line widths in pixels. Just use 4pix (substitute the desired width). Xara will convert the pixel amount to points which is how I learned the above values.

    Bitmaps displayed on the web that are in fractional pixel amounts, for example 475.3 pixels, will not have sharp edges.

    Hope this helps.

    Also, setting the width to 0 will remove the antialiasing and give you a perfect 1 px border.

    I did not know that. I'll have to give it a try.

    (just tried it) You're right. Cool!

    I just included this in the Xara Xone TIP of the Week.

    I'm a little confused. Can someone give an example of how this may be beneficial to those of us who may not need to match a HTML border?

    Thanks.
