Considering how many non-English speakers do their best to communicate in English on this site, I don't think it's too much to try to do the same for somebody who isn't a native English speaker?

I copied and pasted the above into Google translate, which gave me this:

The French is far from perfect, but it's perfectly understandable by any French speaker, which is what matters.

Wasn't a complaint.
I just said that it was difficult to participate, for me.

Surely Rik, it's for the poster to put the effort in to use the translator, not the reader? If one posts in English for the attention of a French speaker then add the French translation. If one posts in French then add the English translation. Simple courtesy. If you want to post in Hindi I have no objection whatsoever, it's a beautiful language to look at, but the English translation is needed.

But, elegant as it is, it is perhaps discourteous to provide that tribute in a language that neither Joce nor the TG audience at large understand without turning to a translation service. This was the point I was trying to impress on Joce and which he has, I believe, taken to heart. If I explained myself bad, I apologise.

Mais, élégant comme il est, ce n'est peut-être pas très courtois de fournir cet hommage dans une langue que ni Joce ni le grand public de TG peuvent comprendre sans se tourner à une service de traduction. Ce fut le point que j'essayais de faire comprendre à Joce et qu'il a, je crois, bien compris. Si je me suis mal exprimé, je te prie de me pardonner.

Edit : Je crois bien que Joce peut maintenant utiliser Google traduction sans que l'on se sentira obligé de tout traduire en français, alors je ne le ferais plus sauf s'il s’adresse personnellement à moi par message perso.
Edit: I believe Joce can now use Google translate without us feeling obliged to provide a French translation, so I won't do so any more unless he addresses himself to me personally by PM.
