This is very similar to Designer Pro X9 and Photo & Graphic Designer 9's Background Erase. In fact, it is the same two step process.

I think it's excellent, just like their Vector Magic.
Hopefully it won't be too expensive when final.

Why?? You can do this now in DP9 and P&GD9 I don't understand the need for an outside program for this if you can do this right within your Xara program. As Gary said it's the same 2 step process in Xara and in Xara you can also enable pressure sensitivity if you are using a graphics tablet, not to mention that once you have your background erased you are already in the eraser tool if it needs any extra clean up.

"Two-step process" is a bit misleading in any program unless you're lucky with your image, as Vector Magic indicate



Personally, I much prefer cutting out the required portion and then, also, I don't get an invisible rectangle surround
