    I actually like the ringed planet image a lot - I could easily see it on a futuristic display.

    Why did I say futuristic? We're already making displays where this image would be perfect.

    Just tried that Paul and added a few shapes with trans and feathering, reckon your right, you could come up with some good planets after a bit of work but like you said, it's a start. Yet another method

    OK, Rik was kind enough to make some changes. Some of which I used, so here is the result. I am attaching all because I darkened the moon on some but it may now be too dark, but at least it's not brighter than the golden planet.

    Much better Larry . Just one thing, the star flash would overlap the planet, not display behind it.

    The bright and dark part of the planet is more realistic now, Larry.
    And Frank may have a point, about the star flash.

    just so you know I am listening, here is a revision again. I made the star itself brighter, darkened the dark shape over the planet and lightened the transparency over the smaller moon. Help the star is going supernova!
