    Default Golden planet

I just finished these yesterday. The background is from Filter Forge.
On one version I added some plant motion equations, just to do something different from the norm. Actually I wanted to do them differently but couldn't figure out how to type equations like those so I could distort them and/or follow a curve. Any suggestions or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda nice, but would be more convincing with some more shadow ( gradient ) to suggest the curvature of the planet. Bit flat as it is.

Thanks for the feedback Paul. I tried that but I lost to much of the light area, but I'll try again.

Have you tried using the envelope tool?
    Beautiful renderings Larry.

    Nice images Larry

They could almost work as a stereo pair.

The light in space is very clean, so the shadows would be more pronounced.

Great work all round Larry but I agree with Paul, a linear shadow would take the flatness off the planet without losing to much light.

I wouldn't make it as dark as Frank has, but, he has shown what needs doing.
Whereas, as others have already said, that the planet looks flat.

OK thanks guys, I revised these and I hope they look better. Maybe I still need to add the darkness like Frank did.
