Default A way to change the "look" of DPX9's interface?

I'm not very appreciative of the dark aspect of the default interface. I'd much rather see black on white instead of reversed as it is.

Is there a way to alter this?

When you click Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S the interface will turn light gray. Be aware though that when doing so any customization of your work space will return to the default settings.

That above is the safe method, and recommended.

If you don't want to lose your customisation, then you can rename a file called 'xaradark.cjstyles' to something else.
This file is in the installation folder of your Xara programme.
Do not delete this file as you may want to change it back later.

Changing back to the old light interface from DP9 also introduces an issue with docking toolbars. As time goes on it is quite possible that this back to light switch (which to my understanding was never meant to be a permanent feature) may cause more issues like this and it could very well be removed.

When the Dark UI first came out I didn't like it at all but I decided to give it a month or so just to give it a chance and I found it grew on me and now I wouldn't go back.

When I change to the light interface, I don't get any issues with docking toolbars.
So, what do you mean, Frances?
What sort of issues should I be expecting?

In version 9 if you are using the light interface and you undock the toolbar on the left you won't be able to dock it again.

I do not think it will be removed because, for instance, the new functions have received newly designed buttons and there are so many people on the boards who have expressed their strong preference for the light interface.

I feel differently and cannot get used to it. I do not like it, nor do I like the oversized buttons that take too much space.

"Once you go black, you never go back".

    Sorry, couldn't resist that.

Other considerations aside, I agree with one of the arguments for darker interfaces - allowing the content to dominate with the interface not interfering with the perception of the artwork.
