Thread: Logo creation

  1. #1

    Default Logo creation

Watching videos of the 3D extrude tool, transparency and other effects that Xara has. My company does not have a logo. My name is registered TM but I'm wondering how I'd go about marketing one in Xara

Specifically, could I open a new page and work in that, save the logo as graphic and then import into my web page?

    Thank you for your help

    Yes.

Create your logo and save the document in case you need to modify the logo or use it again. Select the logo and Arrange > Create Bitmap Copy. Use the True Color + Alpha palette option if you want the area around the logo to be transparent. If not, then select the True Color option.

For printed work, ads, brochures, etc. create the bitmap copy and change the Bitmap Size to 300dpi.

going through the help index under "import photos" i'm unable to find the process to make a clip art picture blend in with the background color of the page. i've imported a couple
with white borders or backgrounds but would prefer them to blend into the page. any suggestions appreciated.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Do you want the photo to just fade out like this example of a photo covering some text?

I believe the OP would like a logo with a transparent background.
Perhaps he can scan these search results:

Create a PNG bitmap copy and use the True Color + Alpha color depth setting.

may I make a suggestion regarding your logo? This is something I have personally learned from recently and if it helps you then great...

and that is this... let the design of your logo be led by your marketing strategy. So for instance, I love the design I made for our logo. I thought it simple, bright, etc etc... but a marketing specialist suggested that whilst for a complete amature design it was fine, it did not fit the brand image I want to achieve for our little company. As such he said, for first impressions and impact, whilst not a priority at this time, it would definitely be wise to have our logo redesigned so first impressions were improved when marketing via flyers, email, etc etc. I then discussed this independently of the marketing specialist with a professional designer who told me that whilst they're always happy to take on any logo design project, they would always recommend logos being derived from a marketing strategy because it allows the design to be lead by your target market than your own idea of what you want or what you think good looks like. I then discussed both of the above with some of our customers and all of them agreed with the marketing strategist about our logo...

So whilst I cannot say we've lost business through our logo design, I am personally starting to believe in the importance of having our logo design led by our marketing strategy rather than what I initially wanted and thought what good looks like.

    I hope this helps!
