I am confused. The Challenge title includes the word Vector.
How can the original tutorial be valid if it uses a bitmap graphic for the sponge effect, which I must say takes a lot of viewing to believe it's there or a sponge?

Sponges in natural are usually fractal (same detail at greater magnifications). Try http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=8...ractal&f=false.

In the end, the technique I would enjoy discovering in Xara is how to create a Vector-based fractal pattern.
