Default Have you guys seen these apps?

    http://www.madewithmischief.com/index.html

This is a vector based painting program.

It looks interesting, but I'm not ready to drop $129 yet on it.

On the other hand, this one http://www.escapemotions.com/products/flamepainter/

I will buy because I have been using the previous version of it for a while now.

The thing to notice about Flame Painter is its brushes. I'd like to see better brushes with more variety, more variable sliders, and some more randomness in Xara.

Wow. That is impressive. That zooming in and out part was very cool.

Mischief looks very interesting but they do have an issue with windows and dual monitors, and until that's fixed I'm not going to download the demo. Now if Xara had brushes like mischief and the ability to create custom brushes that would be wonderful. Xara's brushes have been ignored and left at the bottom of the to do list for far too long.

Totally agree with you there Frances about the brushes. The thing that worried me Sheff about the 2 programmes was the lack of info on both programmes. Thought the first was overpriced and the second was just a pixel programme with layers.

I am mighty impressed with the mischief

ok it's pricey, but that said it has something that is very rare in digital apps and especially vector ones, and that's brushes that respond to freehand drawing in a a certain way.. not going to try and describe that, just say try it, and if you don't notice it when you use it maybe you don't need it

and that's it - no fills, no vector export or import, no frills bells whistles or stunning new vector tools.... but, given pricey, I really don't care, this is such a joy to draw with..... and it is for drawing, freehand - not drawing as in shapes

will I buy it?... I shall go see what there is in my rapidly emptying biscuit tin and think hard about it during the 15 day trial

@Frances - I reverted back to single monitor when using it
