Default PNG transparency in PGD 9 vs 2013

I have an image that I need to export as a PNG with a transparent background.

In PGD 2013 it works fine - PNG is saved with a transparent background.

However, in PGD 9, it saves with a white (non-transparent) background.

There was a warning dialog about transparency pop up the first time I used PGD 9 to export the PNG, but I can't remember exactly what it said - something about transparency not supported for this type of file I think. I chose to ignore always and I can't find anywhere I can re-enable that option to see if it fixes things.

    Any suggestions?

    I've attached the xar file.

I get the error dialogue in all versions, but chose to ignore and it exports with alpha transparency just fine.
But any transparency type other than 'mix' will generate that warning in all versions that I have installed (from Xtreme Pro 4 upwards)

Did you try it in PGD9 ?

I'm at a loss to explain why the same xar file, without any changes made, will export PNG with alpha transparency as expected in PGD2013, but won't in PGD9

Yes, that attachment was created in PGD9

The transparency type evokes that dialogue in all versions.
I can't think why you don't see it in PGD2013

Strange - wonder why it won't work on my installation? Perhaps I should try uninstalling/reinstalling.

Either way, I have submitted a support request as well - hopefully they can shed some light on the matter.

I may well have clicked an "ignore always" button some time in the past.

I wonder if there is a way to reset that option so I get the dialogue again?

Just as an update, I heard back from tech support and they were able to reproduce the problem in PGD9.

Specifically, if you open the file in PGD9 and without selecting any objects, choose File > Export PNG and choose True Color + Alpha, you will get an image with a solid (non-transparent) background.

Fortunately they offered an easy workaround until this is fixed - simply use Ctrl-A to select all objects on the page before exporting and then you get a PNG with transparent background as expected.

Looks like I can finally uninstall PGD2013

Actually, it seems to only affect Web Documents which you used when drawing your sprites.
If you use a print document then there is no need to do as support suggests.

I assume you mean setting Options > General > Document Type > Print document ?

I found this made no difference - still no transparent background on exported PNG files.

    Did I miss something?

Really? Well in my tests with your file if I paste your sprite graphics to a print document (white page icon on tab) then export as PNG with Alpha without selecting anything, the transparency is preserved.
If I export from your web document (blue 'W' icon on tab) then the background is white.

Print doc File New >> A4 Portrait (for example)
Web doc File New >> Web Page 760 px SVGA (for example)
