How to make this "wave thingy"?

I found this logo on the internet and was wondering how to replicate this blue thing?

Not sure about Illy, but as this is predominantly a Xara software forum, why not download a 30 day trial of Designer Pro X and have a shot.
It's quite easily done with the 'Blend' tool.

If you do, and need help with Designer Pro X and this, come back and we'll talk you through it..

You can do it in illustrator with exactly the same tool - blend.

yeah but in the tutorial are only shown simple shapes. so i cant really figure out how to make these waves

The illustrator methodology is exactly the same as shown by Bob.

this is what i ended up with. still i cant find out how to fix the overlaping at the bends as it looks quite strange to me.
