A lonely owl hoots
There's barely a sound,
As Miss Artyboots
Sets out on her rounds.
Her little heart flutters
As she flits site to site;
The sighing and mutters
Break the silence of night.
First to the Facebook!
Is there a clue?
Take a good look
In case something is new!
Nothing to see...
Her spirit feels low.
Things offered for free
Barely easing the blow.
What about Tweets?
Just check before bed...
The chatter is sweet...
What she craves is unsaid.
She saves best 'til last
Not daring to peep
She clicks much too fast
Producing a beep!

Hurt shows on her face.
Oh where's her new Xara,
Her beloved DP?
Tears of mascara
Flow into her tea.

Declares our poor lass
