Back-ups

Hi there, i want to make a hard back up of my site onto a cd due to me being over worried about stuff,
which files do i need to write to the cd? which xara files?

I assume you do have automatic backup selected to keep the last 10 copies of your saved work.
This is your Master file (.web or .xar).

Obviously you save this to a cloud store automatically too.
I expect you copy the Mater file onto a USB stick just to be sure.

What you really need to do is Export website... to a local folder.
Say you have 50 pages and the first is called index.
You will then have 50 .htm files and one folder called index_htm_files.

You should save these and your Master to a CD.

Done enough?

You probably dropped a lot of pictures onto you pages.
You may have chosen to optimise these.
If so, you have lost the originals - save these to your CD too.

All done?

Try restoring your site from everything your have on your CD.

I bet sometime you cheated and uploaded one tiny little file directly onto your site using Filezilla.
I bet you've forgotten and Xara never knew...

PHP, Widgets, placed all your objects off the published part of a page so you think I just copy what I can see into a new build of my site.
Oh, what was my upload password,my logon name and even where I am publishing too?

You do have a notebook with all your design details somewhere?
