Default How to create that triangle background?

    Hi there!

Does anyone know how to create a background like this in Adobe Illustrator?

    http://cdn.mobiletuxedo.com/wordpres...ckground-2.jpg

It seems to be a solid background color with mostly triangles drawn at a low opacity I think. But how to I get the edges/endpoints of a triangle match up that perfectly? I tried the last two hours to do it by hand but there are always a few wrong pixels that really look bad when rendered at large. Is there a special trick for that?

    cheers

    Welcome.

It is a pretty tedious job. You need to zoom in, smart guides turned on and as you draw, you need to be especially mindful of the information presented to you at the cursor as you either are moving anchors or drawing. Such as the Intersect, Anchor and Path etc., that appears.

I took the image, manipulated it a bit so I could see it better, locked its layer, and drew on a new layer above it. Another layer was added for a colored rectangle (which the visibility for that layer is turned off while drawing). Altered the blend mode, etc.

Well, I don't seem to be able to attach anything today. If you need a sample file, let me know and I'll upload one to my web site. After I install and configure another FTP app. Had a system failure and I am still loading applications.

There doesn't seem to be any logical pattern to Mike's purple one but if you have CS6 why not use the pattern maker. I would keep the opacity up until you have finished the drawing will make it much easier to do.

Of course there is no logical pattern in it. I just was copying the original...

And thanks. I forgot to mention working in 100% opacity and changing it at the end.
