Default New Stained glass window - Butterfly motif

I've done another stained glass piece, this time a buttery motif with copper foil caming.

The glass piece is really well done! I feel the frame is a bit off because its wood texture seems too blurred compared to that of the glass.

Really nice Frances....I think the wood frame looks good actually....we have something around here that's quite similar looking to your frame.

I guess this is the finished butterfly from the 'what are we working on now' thread?

I like the frame, it works well with the glass, but I understand where Boy is coming from. I'm wondering if the lack of contrast in the texture is the real culprit.

I really like it Frances. Sorry but I just don't see the problem at least not yet. I think it's a beautiful piece of work.

    Thanks everyone

@ paul: Buttery should read butterfly (i stayed up far too late last night!)

@ Ed: yes this is the finished piece from the Stop and Post thread.

Frances, another beatiful piece of work. I've seen a few stained glass windows lately in the forum, and I experimented to figure out which techniques are used but I didn't get the result I was hoping for.
Any chance on a tutorial ? What puzzles me most are two things - the wave effect in the glass (fractal plasma fill ? live effect ? ) and the copper look on the wires ( a bevel ? live effect ? ). I hesitated to ask because I know how busy you are, but apart from experimenting with the tool - which I do - is learning from the masters the only way for me to improve my Xara-skills.
    Guy -

    I love these tools

I also see what boy means about the frame.
It looks fuzzy. Out of focus appearance.

But, the stained glass is MAGNIFICENT.
The colours and the design is brilliant.
    I like it.
