Thread: Snap to Object

  1. #1

    Default Snap to Object

Include a Snap to Object button option for control bar. Keyboard shortcuts are good for toggling but there is no visual indication whether the function is ON or OFF.

    This already exists.
The magnet icon is 'depressed' when 'Snap to objects' is enabled (ON) and not depressed when disabled (OFF)

However it could be a nice touch if the snap keystroke were 'transparent', i.e. work while you are doing an operation.

For example if you move an object and realize you need snapping while moving it, pressing the keystroke could turn it on even if you still have the moving part in your hands.

There could also be a temporary snap keystroke switch that would turn it on only while you press.

    Hi Marc,

The asterisk on the number pad does this.

    Thanks for the tip Fred!

Sadly I don't use have a numpad but searching help I found this which work:
"toggle it on/off during dragging by tapping 's'."

It's quite cool that it exist but I don't understand why one shortcut could not do toggle snap and also do it while dragging.
Not a big issue but it does add some complexity.
