I wish I could say I did all this in
xara but I only used it to make the
circles and text - still it is very
fun! I will be using X for a lot of
compositing. The render was done in
Carrara. Kevin

PS does anyone know where i can get the
movies or is this just a broken button!

Thanks Dennis, maybe I can
absorb enough hanging around
here to at least do a good
job faking it

A couple of months ago, I called Corel in England and asked them for the Xara 2 CD. Apparently they couldn't find it! About a week later the CD came through the post, no charge. So, if you try now you may get it before Xara X.

You can either dazzle em with brilliance or baffle em with BS! The latter works for me!

The movies that you're asking about, the tutorial movies? Chris had them here, I believe in the XaraXone but you had to buy Xara through i/us to access them.

thanks Joel, unfortunately I bought it at
xara.com

I guess Ill cough up 6 more bucks and have
them send me a cd, but the xara site seems
to indicate it is from the 1.2 version --
how good those movies will be is the
question...

But, I think what I would do if you were me is wait about 2 weeks and buy XaraX through i/us. I would assume that those movies and more might be on the new CD. The movies were a great aid to me when learning the program. I still watch them occassionally. I just plop down with a little popcorn and watch away. Seriously, they're great!

Brit PC Magazines feature CD's and nowadays even DVD's! It was about 6 years ago that the above mentioned mag's featured the Xara Demo video and a viewer for Xara .art and Corel .cdr files. (In that time Corel had just released DRAW! 5 so Xara had (and still has) a competitive edge with it's speed and the Spartan style of it's interface. I, also, fell for it instantly!)

Xara's original release was on 5 diskettes and an accompanying CD. In the same undercooled and relaxed style as that demo video, there were 50 or something other video's explaining the workings of Xara Studio and it's various aspects.
