Just wanted to report that this "new" KB2753842 which is dated 20/12/12, now has all the Fonts displaying correctly.

Thanks, Coltatts and itsfransie—
If it's good enough for prime time, do either of you have a link to the update you can post?
I've got my updates turned off at the moment.
TIA and good work!

Thanks for the info, Colin.
Yup! Just done an update and installed KB2753842, and all fonts are displaying.
EDIT: I just went into Control Panel and ran the Windows Update, and KB2753842 was the only update that was picked up, when I did it.

Hmmm. No luck. Has anybody else installed this download in Windows 8?

I only have the public beta of 8 installed and don't regularly go there, but I did get a "No Joy" the first time I did the install in Win 7 64x, Gary.
Seems the Crap Version was in line first, so I wrecked my font list, and then Windows told be there was a new update.
Did it, fonts are here to stay hopefully.
So if it doesn't work the "first time", you might be in luck installing all updates from today after the ruinous update goes in.

Worked here. At least, all the fonts are appearing - Windows 8 pro
Make sure the update has v2 at the end

I went to Microsoft and downloaded and installed the v2 version and all is good once more.
I just figured the fonts did not get transferred over when I moved to my new computer.
