HTML Code Insertion

Is there a way to insert HTML code onto my web pages?
I was told about the Placeholder Tab. I went there, and discovered that all the options were grayed-out.
How do I either have those option available to me; or rather, is there another way to insert the code?
If possible, I would like to be able to insert the code just as easy as it is to insert text on my pages.
Please provide step-by-step instructions.

Michael, it's better if you continue posting questions in your original thread than start another on the same question.

You need to create an object on your page i.e. a rectangle and with it selected, the placeholder options become available
