    Default Undock Text Tab

    Hello,

I know I read a fix here somewhere but I couldn't locate it today. In Designer Pro X, I would like to undock the text options (ab tab).

    Thanks for any help.

    * edit: Adding another question if I may...I try to save Butt Cap to start in the line gallery for a template I use as Default Template, but always resets itself to Round Cap??? Is this fixable as well? Thanks

As far as I'm aware, this cannot be saved, to be then used as a template.

But, an Xpert may be along to tell you if it can be done in some other way.

    Open your default document template.
    Go to the Line Gallery.
    Set to square cap.
A dialogue will warn there are no objects selected and ask if you want to set as the default property - click 'set'.
    Go to File>>Save Template
Click 'Use as default template' then enter a name (I use 'default' as the name) and click save.

Close DPX then re launch it - caps should now be square as default.

    I must be missing something.
I tried that before and even now.
    I don't get that warning?

Rik - I think you have to select Ask before setting current attribute in Page Options > General.

    That's what fixes it.
    Thanks Gary.

This option must have been set to on, in some previous versions.
Because I remember this message appearing quite a lot, when I used to try and set the line width, before drawing the line.
Then, the message vanished in later versions.

Anyway, you've sorted it for the OP.
