    It looks very good to me Derek, however, like Rik I don't see any evidence of rain either (either before or after.).

    Its me its been raining on all day, which is why I spent the afternoon customerless and drawing.

    It's all personal taste, but, I like the drawing in Post #3 the best.
    Not just the figure, the ground is brilliant.
    Now, for me, the whole drawing is beautiful.
    The girl's head seems to be peeking out more naturally as well.

    One more thing:
    I am quite puzzled as to why you think that it's "unfinished background"?!

    Having gone as far as I have I think I'd like to do more with the background to perhaps create some sort of story as at the moment its just the result of random scribbling without much thought to what, if anything, is going on.
