Default Text following curve with upright letters

    Hello

Just right now, I can't find a possibility to attach a text to a curve with upright letters.

Found nothing in help text and nothing here in the forum.
    Can someone help me?

I'm not sure what you mean, but, if you are saying that the letters are on the wrong side of the curve?
Then you can righ-click, on the text and select reverse text on curve.

If you mean that you want the letters to follow the curve, but still be upright (vertical) on that curve, then I don't know.
And, I'm not sure that it can be done?

I love Xara, cause it is so fast and it can do marvelous things.
I can't believe, that it can't do this.

You could use the mold tool. It's not a perfect solution but it works.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Break the letters apart (Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes then Ungroup two times) and arrange the characters manually.

That other product would not rhyme with Doral would it?

    Yes it - would.

Sorry gwpriester - but Your solution just arranges normal letters on the curve, it doesn't stretch the letters on its own.
Take a closer look on the "H", it is deformed according the curve.

How can we transport that request to the developer team?

You can use this function for words on a cylinder or a bowed surface. It gives them a 3D-look.

    Hi Piet.

Please go to the Dear Xara forum.
Detail your request there and give examples of what you would like.

Ah, OK, I see. I would apply and then edit a Default Envelope with the Mould Tool, though this is not a very elegant way to do this task.

It's not xara but it trumps xara in terms of functionality and interactive feedback.

Of course this highlights the issue of why xara chooses the best way to put text on a line, unless one is prepared to warp the baseline of the text accordingly.
