I admire your persistence Mark. I don't think you messed up. The object copied in Designer and pasted in X3D will not be colored until you color it or them. I was using Xara 3D Makwer 7 and they were because that version remembers the previous file and uses that information unless you have opened a new file with the default screen. I have a custom startup screen, textured and animated so when I paste the object it has the texture, and background color I had applied to my default screen so I always have to change everything to what I want at the time.

while I was bloody determined to get it because it will save so much time making a banner, instead of having to do two I can put a photo on one side and a photo on the other side.
And sometimes I make up to 12 at the time it will cut down immensely and look much better.
Also you did not mention about why it to turn off text and lights. Just wondering what it was in aid of, something to do with the question I asked possibly.
While at least we got there in the end which is all that counts and thank you feel persistence in helping me, you have been very kind to donate your time to my stupid requests.
I know and the people could probably make it quickly but this program has so many potential which I never knew about and still learning about.
The next thing I will tackle will be text on the emoticon.

I am truly indebted to your persistence and as I said in the last post some days you can spend ages trying to do it and then like last night when I can hardly see the screen from overuse it went straight away and worked.
Now I want to learn the other features in graphic designer and also Web design premium.
I thought it would be easy when I looked at the demonstration video on how to do stuff before I purchased it but it's not as easy as it's made out to be really
I don't know why they made the background dark, makes it very hard to read (talking about graphic designer and Web designer)
I just want to be able to make it standard banner that some people would make as there is websites available also that you can make for free but they are limited.
Anyway thanks a lot again if you can tell me why it were needed to turn off text and lights, regards Mark

Turning the lights off may not be necessary Mark, however if the text is not animating and the lights are then you would notice the lighting changing on the text even though the text itself is not animated.
I just checked this out and it is very noticeable at least on the one I have set up.

Open the attachment below, the text is not animating because I unchecked the animate text box but the lights are. That is why I suggested you un-check both text and lights.

hello Larry, I was wondering if you can look at something make emoticons for a website and for some people and recently every time I make it and it is uploaded it is flashing instead off displaying properly as previous ones have.
I have reset the software is with no luck and I actually deleted it, version 6 3-D, when I went to reinstall it ran an error message would not be reinstall again, that was another pain, waiting for technical support at the moment.
I was wondering when I made changes to the software recently to make those squares if it is anything was happening after it which is why I reset the software.
I will upload a test to show you and then also the error message.
I did the same thing on Windows 7 made a test on their and it is still happening, would like your opinion regards Mark PS I have not done anything in writing text on the squares as of yet.
    Regards Mark

Mark I really don't understand very well. You say your emoticons flash. Are they animated? I don't know what could be causing that, if you have other browsers installed, try opening in those and see if the problem persists. I use Irfanview as my primary image viewer, but it does not play some animated gifs properly so I only use it as a still image viewer, and maybe a couple other things. I saved your windows 7 test and opened it in Opera, IrfanView, Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer and it works properly in all those with no apparent flashing.

When you reset Xara3D6, did you un-install it then delete the folder or what did you do? The resetting issue has me somewhat confused. Is your Xara 3D Maker 7 still functioning?

hello Larry, thank you very much for the quick reply, was not expecting anything for ages, I know you are a busy person.
Regarding the animations, yes this is what I cannot understand they are working fine everywhere else except where they are supposed to be sent to for approval to be put on another website.
The only way I can explain it is if I give you the link, you can put a shortcut in their which I have called it and see what happens.
I have done many of these in the last 2 1/2 years since one of the people on here helped out making them heart spinning and leaving the text standing alone. Would you will want to have not mastered that, was only taking part of it and using it in putting my own text.
Back to the other problem regarding 3-D maker 7 that is what I used to make this one we are seeing because I cannot get my version six 3-D back because of the error shown.
Just in case I thought there was some problem with the adjustments which we made with lights and text I wanted to reset everything to see and sent another test to be approved, with the same result, so I I thought I would uninstall it and reinstall to see what happened, but unfortunately you can see the error that I supplied and will not go in.
I was using version 6 to make all those spinning heart and emotions and version 7 for all the picture ones.
As I made a previous test when I was in Windows 7 and uploaded that has both versions are working on Windows 7 and installed I did that to check up again with the same result.
It are just too hard to explain without seeing it.
The animations are made and sent up to be approved on the website for display, the one I supplied to you was just a test and also with appropriate language.
The website they are used for is an adult site where I talked to some certain people on and make banners and emoticons or some girls that I talked to.
So the only thing I can do is paste the link to the place where you can display the emoticon shortcut so I can show you.

There is little box at the top of this page on the right-hand side where you can put to shortcut and I will give you.

[removed link to site that is a NSFW website. We don't allow links to adult content websites]

You will see on the top right-hand side there is a search little box, when people submit their animations to be approved so that they are not pornographic in the fact that they cannot betray any children if you understand.
Here is a short cut to put in the Windows search box. ( :mlwin7tstsh ) if you put that into the text search including the: you will see what happens.
I know it is long-winded explanation but it's the only way I can show you what happens.

As I said I have made thousands of these with different text and never had a problem, we have our own profile page as well and I have used a direct link and HTML and they are both showing up okay on my homepage message window where people can leave messages because I do that for some testing.

So I cannot understand what's happening, obviously it is something to do with their website because it is something recently when they did some updates I suppose, and yet when people make normal banners with a square box and pictures and text filling it they seem to work fine.
Hope you understand the above, thank you for your quick response, was very good of you.

Also regarding version 6I just remembered a question you asked, I reset the software, I restarted the software, no change to the version 6 interface so I ain't deleted it actually uninstalled it, not from the Control Panel in Windows XP from the software list were its gives you give you all of the the xara programs in the all programs list
I did have a look in the and remove list and version 6 has gone from their, also I look for any folders and the only folders are for other programs no version 6.
    Regards Mark

Mark, I still cannot access it. I have tried several times with opera and also with Internet Explorer always the same result of nothing. Maybe I am just missing something.
