    Rik, thanks. The smoke was drawn and colour blocked in vector, then detailed with raster.
    Tabian, thanks. Both the plane drawings and background are used from the last one. The plane was redrawn as an earlier model. I think out of the 100+ illustrations of planes these are the only two I have included smoke and flames in. Thought for the Flying Tigers it was needed.

    When you say, raster.... What program? Do you toggle between Illustrator and Xara?

    Ace, I use an old 10+ year old paint program from old animation software for the paint work. Normally the main subjects are 100% vector. It's the backgrounds I use a mix on. I usually lay out the background and colour block it in vector, then I transfer the file (PNG) to the paint program to digitally paint. After that I transfer it back to Xara to finish up the work.
