    Dear Black Knight--

Queen's bishop to white pawn 4.

Onnnnnnly kidding. If you want an effect like that you pointed us to, try the Paint Alchemy filter by XAOS|tools, which plugs into Photoshop or other pathetic imitation of Photoshop.

See attached--it was just goofing with the parameters for 30 seconds.

Dang... i know of a couple sites explaining there take on that effect, but sorry... i can't recall em at this moment. If i do though i'll post em here asap.

I can explain one method though, use with Photoshop...
    ---------------------------------------------
Make a new Document in Photoshop, then add a new layer.
Use the Polygon Lasso tool and create a number of the triangular shapes, then fill these with a certain colour.
Create another new layer and repeat the last step. But this time fill the shapes with a lighter shade of the first colour.
Create yet another layer and repeat the last step. And this time, fill the shapes with an even lighter shade of the first colour.
To get a blending effect of all the layer... either lower the Opacity for the 2nd & 3rd layers created, or use the Multiply Blend Mode for them. Try other Blend Modes also.
    ----------------------------------------
This is not my technique, but one i've seen out there on another board. I'm not claiming any credit for this.

For now... try searching this board for a mention of the effect: www.ozoneasylum.com
