    Default Drawing a steel bearing?

    Hi all,

I've been playing around with Pro for a while now, followed quite a few of the tutorials from Messrs Priester and Bouton - which have been great, and a really good way to learn stuff with Xara.

I'm trying to draw a steel ball bearing 'cos I think that would be great way to experiment with gradients and transparencies, - but like a lot of the black arts of digital graphics I can't get a decent result. Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

    Cheers

    Welcome to TalkGraphics.

Can you show us some of your efforts? That will help give us a guide line as to how you think a steel ball bearing might look.

Yes that's exactly what I mean, Soquili's bottom right drawing and one of the actual bearings inside Black Panther's race bearing.

I'll give those a go and post result(s) - Thanks!

In one of Gary's tuts or workbook he has a full metallic colour palette and steel is included and in an other he has made a steel brush. There are other like a fork and knife that he has done so have a closer look on your CD or look in the Xone.
    Design is thinking made visual.

Bronto the image of mine you say looks as you would like is very simple. It consists of only four shapes.
