    I know there is a gradient option to take one color and have it fade to transparent, but how would you go about fading a photo so that, for example, the top of it was 100% opacity and gradually faded to transparent at the bottom so any objects or layers that were behind it could be seen through the transparent part?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
