    Default GIF Animation Layers

I've just started trying to make a GIF animation with Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013.
The program allows you set a frame as a "layer".
The Xara help manual says that the layer frame will go over the previous frame in the animation.
However, I haven't been able to get this to work.
Clearly, I'm doing something wrong. But what?
Can anyone help (or elaborate) on the use of layer frames in a Xara GIF animation?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Hi Jim, you must start with a new animation from the File > New menu. Or you can use the keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+N.

that's exactly how it works jimpianored. In Soquilli's example above showing red and green flashing lights the effect is subtle but that's what is happening. It's kind of like page flipping.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
