Microsoft Updated, Now Designer Pro 7 Times Out

Is there a way to increase the time to timeout in DP7? I can ftp in with my cuteftp and still upload, but it takes about 30 seconds to authenticate. I would rather wait 30 seconds and have DP7 only upload the changed files.

Jim you can use XaReg to change the time out values. I don't recall at this time if I limited how many seconds can be selected, it has been a few years since I wrote that code.

XaReg worked! The timeout values were low, like 5 seconds and 5 retries, so I increased all of the settings to max. And it worked. I had increased the timeout setting to max before, but it made no difference. Don't know which one was the one that did it, but don't care. I'll leave them all to max. Thank you for all your help, made my day!

Jim the highest value XaReg will allow for the FTPConnectTimeout is 5 seconds. If you wish to try your 30 seconds you will need to edit the registry manually.

The registry key for DP7 is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XtremePro\7.1\Opti ons\Publish\FTPConnectTimeout
the key value must be in microseconds.

A value of 20000 is a 2 second timeout so a 30 second timeout value would be 300000.

You're welcome. Found out the real problem was with the server/ftp connection using DNS in some way looking for a name or something (not my forte') that didn't exist. All fixed now and back to normal.
