Wow! I like this one. The colors are very well done. Love the grill and chrome. it just has a good feel to it. This one is my favorite.

Ah, the devil is in the details.

If your cab is authentic of the period, 1937, there were no 800 numbers then. In fact phone numbers had names such as Crestview 52620, Rugby 383569. The first two letters of the phone number related to the numbers on the rotary dial, so Crestview was 27-52620. (That was our phone number when I was growing up in the 40s).

So some Google searches to see how these numbers looked.

    Beautiful rendering as always.

Thanks loads Frances, Gary, Paul and Wriggs!

You're right Gary. My home phone number in the 40's and 50' was Sycamore 49205. (SY49205)
I changed the car number to SY1-2345.

Ron - I saw the revised image in your Graphics.com Gallery.

Three things I noticed. The license plates from that period, I believe were black with yellow numbers.

The perspective lettering on the door is not quite right. I think it needs to skew down on the right just a hair.

And as I remember, the think on the top of the car was a plastic lighted thing that said Taxi so people could see them at night.

But it is a splendid image and really makes me think fondly back to that time when for me at least, life was so much simpler.
