Clipping bitmap with vector

Thanks for everything.
The part "but it will look like the black is missing. To fix that click at the edge to select the outline shape" does not work for me why?
which edge do you mean? and which outline shape?

Hi mjindustry, I had a look at your file and you can do this quick and easy

First select both the hands and the wood bitmap, Then under the arrange menu select combine shapes > slice (or use the keyboard shortcut ctrl+4)

Now click somewhere on the page to deselect everything and select just the photo fill and arrange>break shapes. you should now be able to delete the photo fill and be left with the filled hands, but it will look like the black is missing. To fix that click at the edge to select the outline shape and click the black tile on the colourline.

After you've followed the instructions shown in blue:
Please look at the attached image. It shows where you need to position the mouse and click, and then select the colour from the colour line.

Just a thought, but if you have trouble locating where to click, you could try changing view quality to ‘outline only’ to show where the lines of the hands are. To change the view quality go to ‘Window --> View Quality --> Outlines’ or use the slider on the standard control bar.
