Thanks Ross. That makes me feel better, still dumb, but better.

I made it by scanning in the image, which was very low quality and playing about with it to make it look the way you see it now.

Sorry if it's not quite how it needs to be.

Egg, I'm attaching a zip file with some .xar and .x3d files I've made; in the hope they may help you in writing the tutorial. You are much better at writing tutorials than me.

Jonny, don't feel dumb, you only lack experience using the programs. We all started that way, but with the tutorials by Gary and Egg and experimenting we gain experience.

Bitmap images, such as your logo, can only be used as fills.

To create a shape that can rotate and animate in Xara 3D the image needs to be in a vector format, such as WMF (Windows Meta File) and EMF (Extended Meta File) and needs to be created in an application like Xara X, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, etc.

Vector images are shapes such as circles, rectangles, or freehand shapes such as the crest, that are created with vector drawing tools such as Xara's Pen Tool, Shape Editor Tool, Ellipse Tool, Rectangle Tool, etc.

Heres a tutorial i did a year ago or so, the page is a bit messed up, but you will get the basic idea... one thing though is replace flash with xara x and *.wmf files with *.xar files

Thanks a lot mate, just one thing though. When I try and pull two imported files together, they just merge, rather than lay on top of each other. What am I doing wrong?

OK, thanks a lot Egg. I'm guessing it's quite a big tutorial then, any idea when it might be finished?

    Cheers.
