Tonights drawing is my first attempt at drawing a firearm. I did a knife last month so i wanted to do something a little different.
Enjoy,
Paul

Beautiful work!
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
They're going to kill me anyway and I'd love to die the way I lived:
Avoiding Manual Labour.
Brilliant drawing, Paul.
But, it's inaccurate.
You've drawn a left-handed one.

Thank you everyone for your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
Rik. That is because I am left handed.
Thank you Frances. I think the background makes the picture too.
Thank you Frank.
While I love the gun and think it is great, that background is something I have tried on several occasions and can never get to come out correctly. Anyone know how to draw or share the technque for drawing a background like that.
I know what you mean, without the right background, your artwork just looks unfinished. I too struggle with creating backgrounds for my artwork. I find the fractal tool vary useful. The one i did for the gun is gradients and fractals with some transparencies. i have attached a file that you can play with. You may want to go through some of Frances tuts, she is one of best at demonstrating textures and clouds for backgrounds and her tuts are user friendly. Hope this helps.
