Looks like the Battle of Reading is well under way!

Beret: I've already checked our bunker and it's well stocked to be able to ride out any nuclear fallout.

Steve: I think it's only a matter of time before the new runway gets the go ahead.

Noticed yesterday afternoon, same piece of the sky is absolutely clear!
I think all the traffic lights must be stuck on red.
It's the same clear sky, this morning, by the way.
    Is no-one flying any more?!

Blimey Rik have the Red Arrows been down your way then? Nice photo btw.

Re: the clear photo, I don't really know about the physics of it, but maybe it needs a certain kind of atmospheric condition (ie temperature/humidity etc) for the contrails to persist?

I think the EPA made them install some sort device to prevent the formation of contrails.

Contrails happen when the temperature of the upper atmosphere is very cold. Warmer temperatures prevent condensation of the jet exhaust.
